"Let's start from the beginning. I decided to stop by Goodwill and do a little well needed shopping, as I was shopping Goodwill employees started placing new Bins out. You had customers losing all their common courtesy. You have customers that were going to the bins and not waiting as Goodwill employees complete placing them in their proper spots for all customers, you had customers being very aggressive and hostile. I have always used common courtesy along with implementing kindness and respect. So it's not a problem for me to just step aside and wait while I watch Goodwill customers display all types of negative and inappropriate behavior such as physically assault, hit, push and shove other customers and even sometimes Goodwill employees. Which is my reasons for placing my Google Review. Not only was I physically pushed, shaved and lied on today by Caucasian male but I was literally assaulted that situation became so intense because not only was I asserted and professional but I had to Stand My Ground, even after this man physically assaulted me over several times in Goodwill because of the color of his skin and after I inform Goodwill staff of the situation requesting for the cameras to be pulled, walking away from the situation and then being followed by this particular man as I'm trying to inform staff of the situation, then this man literally lying to staff and the police as well and he called the police. I had no problem with him calling the police in fact I encouraged it along with I encourage Goodwill and the man who assaulted me for the cameras and the video along with the audio to be produced. The police response what's completed fairly quickly I am form the belief to please speak with goodwill personnel and I would be waiting for him outside whenever he needs me as I was up on his . The man must have changed his story and did not want the cameras to be pulled video and audio to be played because there was no mention of of the video ever again and I peacefully left goodwill with only being pushed, assaulted and shaved without any physical , scars or wounds. This is what may and should expect when shopping at goodwill outlet on South Gessner in Houston Texas. If you are pregnant, expecting or trying to do a little bit of shopping with your children this is most definitely not the place to shop."
"I love thrifting & I really wanted to love this Goodwill bins location but I honestly couldn’t. There were no baskets because the resellers were camped out in corners with about 2 full baskets each. The bins were crazy & had used underwear, broken glass, dirty tissues, & all types of nonsense in it amongst the donations. The fellow shoppers/resellers were very aggressive & disrespectful when new bins came out! Pushing & shoving others like their life depended on it. They only had 1 cashier open with a line to the back of the store & people not being mindful of said line by still shopping while in it. There were also unruly children running around screaming throwing footballs & baseballs across the room & it was also very hot inside! It’s just not ever that crucial for me! I’m just not that desperately in need so I’d rather go to a regular thrift store. I probably won’t be back but I did find a few very cute items in the midst of so much heat & chaos! $2.49 a lb for clothing which is so cheap! 2/5"
"This is a by the pound location. I am not sure if they have ever set rules. The chart says one thing and the register does something else There is a long line and just one cashier. The bins are nasty and disgusting. I go next to the computer store but today maybe the last time. The prices are the same as Micro Center's on sale prices. Heck I can get better prices at Walmart on sale as here. I try to support their job training but it's getting to be too high in prices and the customers are varied."
"This place used to be better. I don't mind digging through stuff or even contending with other eager buyers, but things have gotten out of control. They don't enforce the rules. People are wildly aggressive and it's too crowded to get near the bins without risking an elbow in the face. People also take several carts, as others have mentioned. I actually did manage to find a cart today but I think that was just luck. There didn't seem to be as much good stuff coming out as previously. They are particularly low on housewares, and when they do show up they got separated, tossed around and even broken by the other buyers. It also took a really long time to check out. I did find a few good items after being there two hours, but I'm just not sure it's worth it any more. I'll try another location but this one is closest to me."

"I love this store. First and foremost this is a Goodwill OUTLET, aka 'bins". Merchandise that doesn't sell at other stores is sent here. It is then dumped into bins and sent to the floor for us to rummage through. Yes, it's dirty and things are broken but you can find some pretty amazing deals if you're willing to look. The staff is nice and runs a tight ship. There are rules.....if you bring your kids keep them next to you, don't just fill up carts and walk away, don't fill up 4 carts and keep waiting to pay because other people need carts too. Most of the posts that say the employees are rude are probably from those who don't follow the rules. I have been to all the other Outlets in the Houston area and this store runs the smoothest from bringing new bins out, keeping it fair, to checking us out. Love this place!!!! Keep up the good work! These pictures are just a fraction of my findings!"
"This definitely wasn't the type of goodwill I was expecting when I walked in. Seems like every 20 minutes they wheel out 10 new bins with items for people to look through. It's priced per weight, which is $2.59 per pound for clothes, while items are priced differently. The issue is that the customers go crazy just to look through the items and don't care about hitting, shoving, and pushing buggies into other people. If you come here, just be careful because people in there don't even care if you're pregnant. I ended up spending 2 hours here and found some good deals. I spent $47 for all the clothes, and $4 for a pregnancy pillow, Tiffany and Co baggies, Starbuck cups, and Calvin klein bag."
"This is a fantastic Goodwill bins. You should be aware before coming to this location. This is an outlet store meaning nothing is organized by size, gender, etc. It comes out in giant tubs, and you search through for hidden treasures. I love the staff, they seem to have some employees there a lot, and they’re very nice, they aren’t OVERLY friendly like some expect from every customer service worker, they’re real, and I love it! I’m sure they may be tired from the atmosphere the bins give! (Lots and lots of people) I have never seen the staff be “rude” to anyone who doesn’t deserve so. When you have good deals, people with act crazy sometimes, and these AMAZING employees corral like the best of em! They keep it under control even when it’s packed, and as I’ve always been kind, they’ve always been kind to me. Some people can have improper etiquette but the good outweighs. A lot of the same people come, so you’ll eventually have “bin friends” if you’re nice. I’ve had SEVERAL people notice me looking for certain items, and have gone out of their way to grab a similar one they spotted- that’s so so kind! It is different from a goodwill store, but I am a big fan"
"This place was recently turned into an outlet. They sell clothes, shoes and linen by the pound (I have a picture here with the table of prices). And they have items that have individually priced items. They put the merchandise on rolling tables or bins and there you pick what you want."

"The employees have been making a mess of the bin lines when putting them out. You’ll see random bins just left in places, bins in the isles between bins, bins preventing a checkout line, etc. they used to have clearly marked rows the bins fit into, but I guess the decided they couldn’t stay in the lines anymore. Things here are by weight for pricing - with many huge clearly labeled signs around the store - that breaks it down into: clothes (0-50lbs, then another price for over 50 lbs), misc, media (3/$1), or individual priced items. Individually priced items are supposed to include (according to the huge signs & the online official goodwill website): Bicycles, Lawn & Garden, Furniture, Rugs, Exercise Equipment, Televisions…however at this location all of these items end up being thrown in the bins by weight - except some of the furniture that is too heavy for them to lift or too big to fit... Not only does that leave these usually extremely large & heavy pieces being way too expensive to purchase (never seen anybody get this stuff, so they’re just going to end up literally having to dump it), it leaves them in the way of actual digging in the other stuff. The bins are usually overflowing to begin with. Throw a giant rug or tv or whatever on top of one & suddenly nothing under it is really accessible. Do not buy furniture here unless you can immediately take it with you. If you leave it they will break it. And not even other customers - the employees do not care that you already paid for it - if it’s in their way, they are shoving it down & around. Of course, the reason it’s in the way is probably their own fault (they put it there/do not move it when sold, etc) but that is, again, irrelevant to them. There is a blonde woman who works here - not sure if she is actually a manager, but she acts like she thinks she has authority. But I really can’t fathom why she works here. You can feel the hostility rolling off her in waves from across the store - not directly at anyone specifically, just general attitude even when not engaging with a customer. To most customers she is incredibly rude & snappy. However she seems to ignore the usual campers completely. Maybe she just got tired of trying to deal with them and no longer bothers, I can’t know for sure, but it does make her harassment of any other customer stand out that much more. I know it’s not a fantastic place to work & all that jazz…but like lady it is YOUR job right? Like, you applied for it & collect the paycheck? And you were aware that the job was to service your customers right? Because if that’s not your thing, I’m pretty sure there are other jobs out there. Or at least there’s other employees Goodwill can hire, ya know who might actually want the job. Which leads me to the new mid day close. That is not anywhere on the goodwill website, the google info, the yelp info, or anywhere but on little flyers at the store. It’s the stupidest thing - they start kicking you out at like 11, so they can close -nearly an hour later- for about an hour. They start the kick out well before the posted times, then get really mad when people don’t just want to stand in a massive line waiting to check out for over half an hour. Like. No duh. What are they even closing for? Not to restock, the trucks come at all times, & they do the bin rotations the whole day. The amount of anxiety at the crowded check out - on one register before finally opening a whole second register… - was unreal. Makes you feel so rushed & confused, people packed together like sardines with carts, line jumpers like we aren’t all having to check out at the same time, the blonde lady going around yelling at everyone... The campers go party in the parking lot for the hour before mobbing the doors again. But the person who drove an hour, only to find out on arrival they only have 30 mins to shop (and probably not even that because the whole kicking out routine) is totally out of luck. If you’re going to shut down your business mid day - the fact that it’s a stupid decision aside - have it posted on your website!"
"I agree with some other reviewers that being here for the first time you would get a little horrified. Things are just packing on bins with questionable hygiene conditions. However, when I saw how they charge, I began to think this as a scavenger hunt :) so still a very interesting shopping experience. You kinda have to dig to find the stuff. I realized that charging by weights are not exactly that cheap if you look for heavy stuff like winter coats. The staff did organize the stuff into different bins, but overtime they got messed up. I found children' cloths are usually in better shape than adults. Also they do have newer stuff on home decorations (especially holiday ones), table cloth, sheets, and curtains. If you wanna buy affordable adults' cloths, I think there are better choice at this price."
"Really wish this location was working out for me since I source for my business. There's a group of young guys and men that literally go every day of the week and the staff let's them put lawn chairs up and keep multiple baskets. When the new bins come out they will walk around looking for vintage shirts. They will stand right in front of you like you aren't even there and will block the bin til they get what they want. I get that people are looking for things but there's no staff controlling the area. They will say you can't touch the bin until they say go and people will grab things anyway and they don't do a thing about it. At least at the other locations they monitor the new product coming out and you get a fair shot if you line up. Staff seems to know all the regulars and tell them what's coming out. Alot of really gross bins at times. They dump product on top of old product. You can still find a lot of things, but you don't have shot at the good stuff alot of times because there's no one monitoring the customers."
"This location is a mess. Everything is in large bins and mixed together. You must dig. Dig through shoes, books, sheets clothing. All mixed together. This is unsanitary in my opinion. Hanging clothes, keeping dirty shoes out of bins along with everything else would be better. Everyone is digging through the bins. In one bin, I saw dirt, a piece of gum and 2 pennies in the corner. Just gross."

"I was pleasantly surprised! Although it can get a little “peoply”! And by that I mean people will pull up right next to you and dig and through stuff around! My 1st day there 7/18/25 a Friday around 1pm and parking lot packed to! Dressy cool because it’s get rad warm even though the huge fans in ceiling did a good job I was never uncomfortable. If you find a bakery outside take it! People hog the baskets and they are literally camped out I guess waiting on different new bins to be pulled out! My vibe is to not struggle and I will find what Finds me! I don’t really go for “clothes or shoes” but found vintage Tupperware and alot of Good Condition dvds! I enjoyed my time there but I was guarded! Soon as I got to my 1st bin there was a Verbal argument Mainly a woman telling off some young man. There are people of all walks and ethnicities. Stay neutral! Be courteous, keep a basket to keep others at bay! I like my Elbow room! Also very important take a water bottle w/ cool water to keep you cool!"
"LOL! What Fun! This place is a treasure hunt! Piles of clothes to dig through, very crowded and noisy. you are charged by the pound which is a great deal if find something worthwhile. A lot of it is trash but some things are brand new with tags. This is NOT a good place for small children."
"I’m easily thrilled by the hunt of thrifting so this was so fun! I spent 1.5 hours and came out with some gems. I’m glad I brought gloves as the stuff is literally fresh from being donated; I didn’t come across anything questionable but it was easier to dig through with them on. I went right when they opened so finding a shopping cart wasn’t an issue but next time I’ll bring a big bag (like an IKEA blue one) just in case they’re out. I stuck with the bins that were already out so it didn’t feel as competitive. Definitely will be going back!"
"The bins used to be my happy place, but this new location is honestly an embarrassment. First, the parking situation is terrible — it’s not designed for retail at all. Sure, you can put your store in a warehouse, but you’re still a retail business, and you need to act like it. Then there’s the smell. The moment you walk in, you’re hit with the stench of sweaty BUTT and body odor. And it’s not hard to figure out why: there is no air conditioning. Not broken. Not “waiting to install.” They really opened a massive warehouse in Houston — of all places — with no AC. Employees are literally dripping with sweat. The few fans they have going make little to do difference. What’s worse is seeing how miserable the staff is. I recognized employees from other locations who used to be friendly and upbeat. Now they just look defeated. And who can blame them? No one wants to work in that kind of heat. I had a chance to chat with a few of them and they are as miserable as they look. Customers can leave, but the employees cannot. Goodwill’s mission to employ people who may have a hard time finding other work — whether due to criminal records or developmental delays — is something I genuinely support. But putting people with limited job options in an uncooled warehouse for very low pay feels borderline exploitative. I used to spend hours here. I couldn’t even make it an hour this time. It’s so disappointing to see Goodwill shut down multiple locations, only to open one big, miserable warehouse that clearly cut corners at the expense of both staff and customers. Just because it's legal not to provide AC in a retail setting doesn't make it moral or right. I’ll be finding another way to source inventory for my business. Shame on Goodwill for this."

"Great place for treasure hunting. If you’re not experienced at Goodwill Outlets…. then do research on other reviews, ask friends, or get an employee to guide you through. You don’t want to get in the way of the land rush when they bring out new bins. Wear gloves and be careful. That said, there’s some treasures here for a very low price (priced by weight). Great people watching. Huge amount of clothes, lots of books."
"This ISN’T your regular Goodwill—one of the “regulars” explained to me it’s like a SUPER store where items are acquired from the smaller stores and sold by the pound(s). Some aren’t glad more individuals have found this place but the store ecosystem seems to run smoothly regardless. As some others have mentioned they do have a cart issue. The “regulars” sit along the side walls hoarding shopping carts or furniture made for sales. As they aggressively rummage through the bins they throw items hence breaking glass, plates or storage items (sterile drawers, hangers, etc.) I would HIGHLY suggest wearing gloves as some items get wet from gels/drinks or unknown materials. I love the glass deal they have as I’m furnishing some dishes on a “love project”. Also, heard from one of the workers (he was talking to some of the upper management I presume) that they get a lot of request for different organizations/companies about supplying ceramics/dishes/bigger appliances for their rage rooms. On the 2 occasions I’ve been here all the workers are polite. Don’t know the cashier name but she’s a short dark skin woman wears glasses—even with the chaos of regulars and some hasty newbies she worn a smile and assisted all gracefully. Some customers are pushy as they go for their “deal” so be cognizant this isn’t for the hesitant/timid!"
"An okay haul but these bins were a little ridiculous. Although super cheap by the pound, the place was overrun with people and workers constantly yelling and fighting with people. Kids stumbling around the place. Not to mention the whole place stunk. You do what you gotta do for cheap stuff"
"Dear Goodwill Management, I am writing to share my recent experience at the Goodwill Outlet in Austin, Texas, which stands in stark contrast to the positive encounters I have had at other Goodwill locations across North and South Carolina, as well as Florida. My visit to the Austin outlet initially seemed promising, given the abundant selection and the quality items I found. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by the behavior of the staff on duty that day. The employees exhibited an alarming level of discourtesy and aggression towards customers, which included yelling, and in my case, an unwarranted invasion of privacy. While I was taking a moment to rest, I noticed employees surreptitiously observing me from over my shoulder, scrutinizing the content I was viewing on my phone. They then confronted me in a highly aggressive manner, insisting I delete a photo I had taken. They remained by my side until I complied with their demand. Although I adhered to their instructions, the photo had already been backed up to my cloud storage, rendering their abrasive approach unnecessary. I understand the importance of adhering to store policies, including those regarding photography and videography. However, I firmly believe that a simple, kindly delivered reminder of such policies would have been sufficient and far more appropriate. The use of rude and aggressive tactics was unwarranted and detracted significantly from my shopping experience. I hope this feedback is received in the spirit of constructive criticism, with the aim of improving the customer service provided at your outlets. It is my belief that fostering an environment of respect and courtesy will greatly enhance the shopping experience for all Goodwill patrons. I will add that we went to the North outlet the next day & the employees there were extremely nice & chill unlike the multiple staff at this location."

"Great place if you like to dig for treasures in the bins! I can easily spend 4 hours in here and feel like I've been there for 1 hour. You will find something for everyone. Books, jewelry, dishes, blankets and sheets, car mats and wiper blades, shoes, jackets, furniture, well you get the idea, I won't list anymore lol but the list goes on and on. You pay by the pound for clothing and large items are usually a set price like $4.99 or something reasonable like that. You will always get a good deal here. The staff ladies at the registers are super nice and welcoming, always greeting you with a smile and kind word. If you are on a budget, this is the place to go."
"This place is crazy wild. I have never been to any place like it in my life. I enjoyed my time there and found a few treasures but the people there were rude and breaking things purposely. Prices are by the pound and differ by the weight amount you have. The more you buy the cheaper it gets."
"This location is just like the one in South Austin it also shows favouritism to resellers. Rather than making sure that all customers have shopping cart availability they allow the resellers to take and fill up shopping carts line them up along a backwall and do nothing about the fac that they have other customers in the building. This should not be allowed. One shopping cart per family is what it should be. There should not Is the shopping cart stacked along a wall full of merchandise. If these people really want the merchandise they should be purchasing it and taking it to their vehicle. By allowing the reseller to keep shopping carts you make them unavailable to others. You then have customers who much carry their items in their arms. This is not fair. The management of this location should stop this immediately. Stop allowing resellers to take over the store. I was highly disappointed in this location. The location in Hillsboro Oregon was way more organized. Books, we're kept separate as we're shoes and clothing. Glassware of handled better as well. Not being able to get a shopping cart was just the icing on the cake. Shame on management for not controlling the store better. Also there was no social distancing. When new bins are brought out the resellers rush them so you end up with 3 or more people at one bin. There should be one person per bin to be able to maintain social distancing. If rules are enforced then shopping is safer for all. ********They have a sign up that says only 2 carts however they aren't enforcing it. Wow."
"Great place to spend time looking for treasures. I highly recommend bringing a mask and work gloves, as there is often broken glass and other materials in the bins. I would also bring a large shopping bag. Loved that there were three checkers today, so the line to leave went quickly. I would have given 5 stars had the women's bathroom had soap. One of the sinks was also broken. Your items are priced by weight, so it's always cheap. I didn't see a handicap accessible ramp from the curb, but there may be another entrance."

"This place use to be good until upper management got greedy and start overcharging for stuff that they get for free. I spoke to some of the workers and they told me that they were shock too about the higher prices. They told me the higher prices per pound didn’t mean that they would get a raise, because they didn’t! These items are donated for free, so how do you go from 1.79 to 2.89 within one week for clothing and 1.39 per book or media 1.49 per linen and so on. These are donated items. Let me tell you where the money is going and why, answer: Corporate Greed!!! I know prices are up everywhere, but again these items are donated! So there is No Need for goodwill outlet to raise their prices! They get these items for free! You have employees working extremely hard to bring out items for us and Goodwill pays these people pennies to work, even in extreme heat! (Pay those employees better wages!) Give those employees a bonus, encourage and contribute to those who want to go back to school! Use some of that money towards your employees! Pay Forward! So where is that extra money going Goodwill? Not to the employees, there is no update on those filthy bathrooms, no update to get a working AC! There is NO working AC so expect to be miserable during Summer/Fall Months from May to October when shopping there. I’ve been going there for over three years and they have never had working air condition! *Bring your toilet paper (cause they don’t have none) if you dare step into one of those Scary bathrooms!*. Goodwill be better! Note: pretty sure Goodwill will not respond to my post. That’s ok! But people need to know how Dallas goodwill outlet operates! Part 2 11/19/2025 Update!! Nothing have changed! Bathrooms still Nasty, No toilet paper! Still have to ask counter for some! They charging $1.39 per book even if it’s a child’s book only have eight pages in there. Goodwill Bins in Dallas charge so much money for a book! And Austin Texas Goodwill outlets books are 4 for a 1.00. Goodwill outlet stores in Houston Texas book prices are 3 for 1.00. The clothing, shoes, linens, and purses are all included together for 1.99 per pound as long as it is 50lbs or more, other than that it is 2.49 but it includes all the above! In Houston, If you buy a piece of clothing and it is 1/2 pound then you pay 1/2 pound. Just like it should be but goodwill outlet in Dallas if you buy a piece of clothing item and it’s 1/2 a pound they have to round it off so you have to pay entire pound for 1/2 of the clothing. Now, do you think that’s fair? Goodwill outlet in Dallas have a lot to learn! They need to go around to different Goodwill outlet locations from San Antonio Austin to Houston and see how they operate! For example, Houston goodwill outlets are on a next level compared to Dallas outlet! Houston outlet store is cleaner, they have a better variety of items! They don’t rush you when in the store, they are very helpful, friendly, and they make your shopping experience pleasant! They close at 8 pm and put new items out until 7:45pm.they don’t rush you out the store even if it is past clothing time! Their prices are better, they are trying to get rid of stuff and not keep it like Dallas! Houston outlet prices are better and cheaper! Items don’t sit! In Dallas, since prices of items are much higher, items sit there! For instance , glass and glass wear .79 per pound in Dallas, well nobody buying that cause it’s too high! I literally saw them take the glass ware that don’t sell and dump them in a large bin, ( breaking and shattering) and brought to the dumpster! So instead of lowering the prices so more people could buy it, they rather keep the price high, sell less, while they contribute to the massive landfill! Goodwill outlet need to lower prices, stop rounding stuff off when it’s not a pound, they better quality items , stop rushing people, get better customer service! Oh, and by all means clean that nasty bathroom!!! Thanks goodwill outlet in Dallas! Y’all are 1 of a kind!! Again management will not respond!"
"The Dallas bins have went from one of the best, to probably the absolute worst. Do not travel to come here and think you’ll have a positive experience. A business who gets product for free has greedily doubled their price. I encourage everyone to contact goodwill corporate and let them know your feelings. Whoever is running this outlet needs to be corrected and find another line of employment. Looking at the reviews over the last couple of months should tell anyone with common sense that this wasn’t the best decision…Saying that you’re keeping prices as reasonable as you can is nothing but a slap in a competent persons face and is laughable. Is there anyone in management with critical thinking skills employed still?"
"This place was a dream of treasure for a really good deal. Now suddenly the things I want to look for like hats and such are no longer sold by the pound. Everything is a set price per each item no matter what the condition. Total outrage and disappointment. They need to stop letting people have like 5 carts each too as they camp there all day and nobody else can get one."
"Don't plan on coming to this location if you have children. No one is allowed in under 16. There is no explanation of any kind, and does not say it anywhere except the door. I even asked for an explanation why and didn't get an answer. Not this way at other locations. Great customer service....not. I wouldn't even give this location my money in the retail side because of the outlet side "rules." Guess maybe I should have looked at other Google reviews before making the trip out here. That's fine. I'll go spend my money somewhere else. Head to Fort Worth's location. Great, well trained courteous employees and a nice facility, where they allow children. Poor business model and example by the management of the Dallas location for punishing the many for the actions of a few."

"I always find something when i come here. Prices by weight is really good. So far ive gotten a lot of things for less than 30 dollars each time i go. I tend to get things that dont weigh a lot. The only thing is its not clean. If you are a germaphobe steer clear or bring gloves and cover yourself you will touch all kinds of things you will not want to 😖. Speaking of dirt and germs....omg the bathroom is disgusting 💀💩. I wonder if they ever clean it. I only go if i have to badly because i've been there for a while. Also people can get in your space, aggresively searching for stuff....like its just material things calm down 😭. Other than some customers and it being dirty i have no complaints. The workers that bring out the stuff can be pleasent just follow the rules and dont touch things before they tell you to when they bring in new bins 🙂."
"This outlet has been a great resource for clothes and goods. Here's the rundown: Set aside some time and bring some gloves! You will not be disappointed. You take a cart and sort through the bins to find what you want. They have all different sizes and kinds of clothes you can think of in their big blue bins. They have one side of the store clothes, the other side is stuff. Every 30 mins or so they move out a row of bins and put a new row of stuff in. If they put in a new row, you must not touch the new row of bins until they say so (they will tell you so!). Everyone there knows the drill. They are happy to have kids but don't leave your kids unattended!! They WILL call you out. Haha. Even if your children are very well behaved. It is for their safety. They do provide bags, but you bag your own stuff. The prices? Dirt cheap; you full your cart and they weight the whole thing. Its $1.89 per lb (minus the weight of the cart of course). Heavy stuff will cost more. But that still means things are VERY cheap compared to normal pricing. Happy shopping!"
"Wish I could give my experience zero stars. This was my first time going to ANY Goodwill Outlet bin store so I was unaware that there are “rules.” They brought out new bins and I picked up a singular piece of clothing and an employee yells at me to put it down and he was generally being incredibly rude so I left immediately. I am disgusted that store managers allow their employees to treat costumers like this, I wish I got his name so I could include it in this message but I hope he gets fired."
"Power was on, employees top to bottom claimed the computers weren't working and refused to take cash for the product. Let everyone in with 0 intention of letting people pay. Manager could have chosen to not let people in until they could ring people up but instead did NOT inform people coming in of the issue although it was heavily overstaffed. I suggested to take exact change and ring it in later as I have done in multiple retail situations where I cared about the employers income. The response I got was that it was against policy to do that. If so then well, there is no fixing a company that makes it a policy to refuse to ring people up but lets them in to shop. However I suspect that instead the managers are just completely inept at their job and only hire people who want to cheer lead for him personally, that was the vibe I got. I am aware the register type they have is keyed and cash accounting could happen. The disrespect of the time of the shoppers is almost unparalleled. I had to inform the shoppers of the situation that management was refusing to take payment due to the computer issue. If the employees hadn't lied and lied about the power being off (lights were on) the scales not working (the readout for the scales face the customer) and who was a manager (some other person was brought and when I asked why they don't do something reasonable, the deferred to the actual manager) and that they had already told everyone of the situation (I wasn't told and there was an employee right at the entrance) then I might not bother to write a review. However any manager who chooses not to take money from a willing customer probably deserves to have the area manager hear about it."

"Just went to the Goodwill outlet in Harker Heights tried to buy a footstool and a dresser and was told I couldn’t buy it from there I had to wait until the main store opened in order to purchase then why in the world with the outlet store be holding furniture with price tags that I just bought a dresser from there this weekend without having to go to the main store if I could leave zero stars I would ."
"The Managment is terrible, they go through so many people in such a short span, no mamagee is ever on the same page. Seen a table there marked 6 chairs and table for a set price, but it was 5 chairs and a table they sold the "6th chair" to a lady at the outlet. When i inquired about the price the manager said it was a good deal and that i still had to pay the same price it was marked . Just curious what kind of buisness practice it is to mark a price and quantity and then Sell off one chair but still charge the same price. Never seen that at any other store. The outlet prices are inconsistent. They keep changing . Junk sits in the back room for weeks ."
"There is a very rude employee working there (she wears blue contacts), I believe her name is Trini (that is what is showing on my receipt). I have been several times and every single time she looks like she does not want to be there. She doesn't acknowledge customers and is unfriendly to put it kindly. I asked her a question and she looked at me annoyed like I was bothering her. This happens with every customer she comes in contact with, not just myself. The manager should have her take a refresher course on customer service or let her go, she is bringing a negative vibe to the store and from reading other reviews it looks like other people have also complained about the same person."
"I would give zero stars. Buyer beware, the cashier of the outlet store will follow you and tell you what you can and can not purchase eventhough you pull it from the bin on the sales floor. If he feels you have something that he wants or the workers have neglected to keep from the bins before the merchandise reaches the sales floor it will be taken from you and reason given - store policy. Nowhere else in another outlet store is a policy posted of purchases made at cashier discretion."

"This is an excellent Goodwill location to shop at. I will admit that if you are not used to bin shopping, then at first glance they may seem kinda intimidating, cluttered, or full of mostly junk... but I guarantee that if you dig in a bit (or wait until new bins are brought out) you will find some truly unbelievable deals every now and then. You can not beat the by-weight pricing at less than $2/lb for most items; heavier items get single-priced out between $5-10 typically. Most of what I own now has originated from this Goodwill in particular. You can find a variety of new & old things... everything from electronics, house decor, clothing, vintage goods, musical equipment, items for projects, outdoor equipment, tools, etc. Great store & friendly friendly staff & courteous shoppers!"
"The employees are nice BUT The Hispanic youth group dropped off by their parents run to the new bins and create a line around the bins whereas I could not even squeeze in to dig. Very unfair and the establishment should regulate this."
"Always find the coolest stuff! You just have to be patient and its always worth the time to go through each of the bins. Bring gloves or hand sanitizer."
"Not bad as far as pay for what's weighed, and oh my gosh the best part of my experience was finding a pair of vintage CHANEL heels in good condition just under a pile of shoes! I still can't believe they got passed up by others! Absolutely love this place, never know what you'll come across!"

"First off I want to give a shout out to Kaisha , hope I spelled her name right, she is a cashier there and just super nice and made my daughter’s and my day, thank you!!! The people here in general are just super nice I talked with several of my fellow shoppers and we all pitched in to help each find things instead of having to go through each bin ourselves! So if you like the Goodwill you have to check this place out! Though warning if you don’t like to dig through things and don’t have a lot of time maybe you won’t like it as much as I did. You also have to have gloves or you can’t go in, it can be a bit dirty though the clothes and blankets and such were separate from the dirtier items. For me this is an all day even ‘t if you want something specific it might not be where to go. That said I did need a vacuum for my son and they had several and an outlet to check to make sure it worked at only 5 bucks you can’t beat it! I had the good luck of finding new Abercrombie & Fitch jeans in my size , a pair of loft dress slacks, also new with tags still on them and several other new items! The price is 1.87 I believe a pound when I did the math per item it came up to around 30 cents an item but I bought a bunch of small light weight items too so that does effect the price but no matter what an absolute steal of a deal! I could say more but go find out for yourselves and I wish you good findings! I’m going to post some pictures of just a few of the awesome things I have gotten here so check those out! I need to post some pictures of the beautiful designer clothes still. I wanted to add on to this post a shout out to Dwain who is always friendly and helpful in anyway he can. Also a shout out to Lisa who runs the front and has a lot going on but still shines through it all! Thank you for being great employees and people !"
"Ok.. This place is not like a regular Goodwill where things are on shelves. Nothing is organized and stuff is placed in bin with wheels. You pay by the pound. Some stuff really looks like it belongs in the trash. Don't expect to find things clean and bring your gloves. The sucky part is the vendors acting like vultures and go on "attack mode" when the employees refill the bins and bring out. That's my only pet peeve. The resellers or vendors can get nasty and rude. There are rules in place that you shouldn't push etc but it just better to stay away if your a shrimpie like me. I needed a back pack and some boots. I did manage to find a decent back pack, suitcase with wheels that worked, and 3 pair of boots. Everything was under 20 bucks. I'll be back here again. It's a hit or miss when looking for stuff."
"BRING RUBBER GLOVES!!! Do you really have what it takes to be a true treasure hunter? How about a second hand shop keeper? This is the Ultimate Ninja Games of the second hand economy. Come... see what marvels you can uncover from the giant blue bins that are rolled out by the staff. You will wait on the edge of your toes as fresh blue bins are rolled out. Like a kid hope up on pixie stix awaiting their turn on a new round of Duck Duck Gose... you dont want to miss these bins. Speed walk, dodge, dig and goble up as much stuff as you can carry in 3 minutes before you can bring in reinforcements with a buddy and a beat up shopping cart. It's real life HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS!!! Must go just for the experience. Tons of fun!!! Jokes a side.. im aware for some folks this is their lifelyhood. Im not making fun, I do enjoy going to places like these to find trasures of my own. I also get to meet folks of all walks of life in places like these. We all have our reasons for being there. FYI please pay attention to the staff and listen to their instructions. They are doing their best to make sure it is a good experience for everyone. Do not be mean or get violent with other folks...it will get you banned from the store. Just be nice and have fun. You will not be allowed to stay without gloves. Make sure you bring them. With some patience, and TLC you can find some nice stuff here. Keep your eyes open. Its part of the hunt experience."
"As a single parent, I recently visited one of your Goodwill Outlet locations seeking affordable clothing options. Unfortunately, I was denied entry because my three-year-old child was not permitted inside. As someone with limited childcare options, this experience was both discouraging and disheartening. I want to express my deep concern about this policy. For many families like mine, Goodwill represents a place of hope and accessibility — a resource meant to support those navigating financial hardship. However, policies that exclude parents with young children directly contradict that mission. Additionally, I’ve noticed a significant increase in pricing at standard Goodwill stores, which has made even basic necessities difficult to afford. To be turned away at the outlet — the one place meant to remain accessible — felt not only unfair but also completely out of touch with the challenges faced by struggling families. I urge Goodwill to reevaluate these policies and consider the real-world impact they have on parents and caregivers. Your organization’s stated purpose is to help individuals in need, and this kind of restriction undermines that mission entirely."

"First: it's sad that there are so many negative reviews from people who don't understand the concept of a Goodwill Outlet location AKA "The Bins." Yes, everything is thrown into bins -- you pay BY THE POUND. Whether you find Wal-Mart shirts or Chanel, the cost is exactly the same. Roll up your sleeves and dig in -- you never know what you will find! That said, I have found some absolute gems and have made a full-time job out of searching these bins and flipping my finds online. I found a Goyard purse that sold for $850. A Burberry trench coat still available on the website sold for $800. I found a Miu Miu top that I sold for $300. Not every trip results in these finds, but it really feels like a treasure hunt. I have not purchased a single brand new piece of clothing for anyone in my home since discovering the bins. Paying 2.50/pound is almost too good to be true! I have all of my daughter's friends wanting to dig in the bins and all of their moms dreaming of quitting their jobs and reselling with me. I have had ONLY positive experiences with the staff. Some might come across as rude when enforcing the rules, but they're just doing their job. In fact - I didn't know the rules when I first started coming and was corrected a few times until I figured it all out. Not a big deal at all. Some of the other customers are downright vicious, though. I've been elbowed, shoved, and tripped because they care more about getting a pair of shoes they see than the actual human beings next to them. Even still, the thrill of the hunt and the insane profit I have made makes it absolutely worth it."
"Insane amount of bins, new bins come out every 45 mins or so, everyone lines up and waits. I found some awesome stuff digging through the bins. Be prepared to get your hands dirty and SEARCH. If you aren’t willing to dig then this isn’t the place for you. It’s buy by the pound here. No racks."
"First time at this location in quite some time, and I was shocked. I heard they had switched to bins, but didn't know what to expect. It was a mess. You can get good deals (you pay by the pound for clothing items which can save a lot of money), but don't expect to find what you are looking for easily. It was hot, difficult digging through the bins, and when we left we felt like we needed to rush home for a shower. One particular employee was quite rude and yelled at me and my daughter because we didn't know their rules about where we could walk when they were moving bins around. I love thrifting and don't mind looking through racks of clothes for that great find, but this was just ridiculous. We will not be returning to this particular Goodwill store."
"THE PICTURES WITH THE ORGANIZED RACKS ARE NOT THIS LOCATION. This location is what those in the thrift-life affectionately refer to as "the bins." You will pay by the pound for things and it gets all the area Goodwills' leftovers. You can find some gems, but resellers go CRAZY here. They will attack the new bins, push people away, and stack carts sky-high with things they MIGHT want. That said, if you know what it is and like that experience, it is a pretty good place."

"October 2024 update: Went back to look, an it is STILL Worthless!! I don't know why the practices of other Goodwill Outlet Stores are so GREAT and Laredo's is ridiculous. BOOOooooo In Corpus, Houston, Florida, kids are welcome...NOT in Laredo. This is discrimination against parents who need/want to shop and cannot bring their kids. BOOOooooo In Corpus, Houston, Florida, merchandise is also available without having to buy the $99.00 carton unexamined. BOOOooooo In Corpus, Houston Florid, clothing is sold by the ppound, In Laredo it is $1.00/item. BOOOooooo Recently ENJOYED the Corpus Christi, TX location. Laredo's is still WORTHLESS. We've been to Goodwill outlet stores in other places, like Houston, Florida and in New Mexico. The Laredo outlet is worthless. They don't put out anything but clothing, you have to buy "bins" of products but cannot touch or move items in the bins. Other cities have carts full of every imaginable item as well as clothing carts. Laredo outlet is USLESS and not a good bargain. BOOOOOoooo"
"Important to remember is no kids under 14yrs old... first time shopping here its a very nice, clean facility. AC and good music while you shop. $.50 per clothing and the pallets, from what I saw, range $25 - $75 each. Restrooms are spacious and clean. It has about 4 benches to sit and wait while they rotate the blue tables. Employees were nice, courteous but also in a hurry to complete there work. Which I don't mind its understandable. They sell sodas if you get thirsty. I bought 10 shirts and 2 jackets don't need to buy in large quantities."
"$1.00 per item! PER ITEM! Insane what they are charging for USED, DONATED stuff that you have to dig for. Probly works out for heavier items but lighter items are incredibly overpriced. (T-shirts, scarfs, ties, baby cloths, etc) Hey Goodwill, you'd sell more stuff if you charged by the pound!"
"I have to start by saying that this is located in the warehouse district Its a horrible location because you're having to deal with trailer traffic I was takimg my dad that likes to shop at the other Goodwill and he had never been here I had my grandaughter with me She's only 5 and she wasn't allowed in by their rules My husband had to wait outside with her We arrived at a time that they were taking out clothes So we were told we had to wait to look around until they were done putting the clothes out They have boxes with merchandise that go for $50 to $100 but you can't go thru the boxes So you're basically stuck getting rid of whatever trash might be in them This location was nothing like the other one in Laredo My dad and I were very disappointed Total waste of gas coming out here I don't recommend it"
